µTorrent
This is one of the most popular, if not the most popular of all the free BitTorrent clients. It’s designed to provide you with the service of the much larger clients, like BitComet or Vuze, while it uses minimal resources from the device on which it operates.
It was first released back in 2005, and ever since then it only received good reviews. Even though the app is free, it also got a paid version in 2011, called µTorrent Plus. It offered extra features, which include a built-in media player, antivirus, and an integrated file conversion. This paid version has changed the price several times, and it currently costs $19.95 for an annual subscription. On the other hand, the free app has had to allow ads in order to continue its functioning.
The dangers of using µTorrent
As we mentioned, using µTorrent is very beneficial to regular users, however, it does come with certain dangers that you should be aware of. For example, torrent sites are often crawling with malware, and you must be very careful about what you click on until you get some practice and are able to find your way around the website safely.
