How to Stream NFL Live on Amazon Outside the US

If you were unaware, NFL Live is coming to Amazon. The only bad thing is that you need to live within the US to watch the games live–or do you? If you’re trying to watch Amazon Prime video outside the US, you might experience an error that says that “Amazon prime video is not available in your country”.

Last year, NFL experimented by letting Twitter live stream 10 Thursday night games on the platform. Now, in 2017, they are switching it up and letting Amazon (who purchased the rights) stream the league games. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, and you live in the US, you get access to the games.

Amazon paid over $50 million to gain access to the rights, and they have the rights to stream their own ads to promote their own video services. Besides Twitch, this is Amazon’s first notable entrance into live streaming, and it might foreshadow an Amazon controlled live show future. “For us, this is about starting to bring live sports to our Prime members all around the world,” says Jeff Blackburn, the company’s head of business development and entertainment.

One reason the NFL might be interested in Amazon is how focused the ecosystem is. “Reach is a focus of ours. I think Amazon has been able to demonstrate, in everything that they do, massive scale,” he said. “I don’t think this is limiting the reach. I think this is expanding the reach.”

Step by Step Guide on How to Unblock NFL Live on Amazon Outside US

1. First, you need to understand why you are blocked. When you connect to Amazon, the site identifies your IP address via cookies and other methods. From here, it can tag your geo-location and give you access to the service if you are in the US, but if not, then Amazon won’t give you access due to licensing deals and aggressive TV networks and blocks in other countries.

2. In order to get around this geo-blockage, you need to use a VPN. When you connect to a VPN, you change your IP address since you connect to a remote server. This also encrypts your traffic.

3. Which VPN should you use? TorGuard is the best live streaming VPN.

4. One you get TorGuard, you just need to download the app and then connect to a US server. Once you do this, you can connect to the Amazon prime website and stream all of it’s live and non-live Amazon prime video content.

5. The good news is that Amazon Prime isn’t as aggressive as Netflix in blocking IPs, so in this case, TorGuard’s shared IPs will most likely be completely functional. However, if you want to watch Netflix, I would recommend buying a dedicated IP with TorGuard since it’s really the only way to unlock Netflix completely.
