Minecraft is one of the best games out there, and no game comes close to the creative power the game has over young kids, teenagers, and even old men. In the game, you can create railroads, computers, castles, and everything in between. If you want to use a VPN with Minecraft, but don’t know how–you’ve come to the right place.

There are many reasons why you might want to use a VPN with Minecraft after all.

Get Minecraft Working at School

If you go to school and want to play Minecraft, you might find that your school’s firewall might block some server connections or the ability to host your server.

A VPN can help with this in most cases by helping you circumvent harsh port rules (by using different ports) and firewall restrictions placed on IPs and internet blacklists. When you use a VPN, the filtering system can’t see what websites you are visiting since it encrypts your information.

Get Unbanned on Minecraft

How to use VPN with Minecraft

If you’re banned from a Minecraft server, without no plausible way in–you can use a VPN to unban yourself. Hey, maybe you’re not an asshole (maybe you are!)–maybe you got banned on accident, or the mod was power hungry–we don’t judge. Most Minecraft server bans are based on your IP, so you are going to have use a VPN to get around the IP block.

Depending on which server you were in, there are various ways you could get banned.

  • A childish Admin doesn’t like you.
  • You accidentally broke a rule.
  • You trolled too hard.
  • Admin banned you on accident.
  • To access a Minecraft server if you’ve been banned, you need to use a VPN to change your IP. VPN stands for virtual private network, and while you are most likely familiar with the term, it’s essentially a program that you install on your computer that changes your IP and reroutes your traffic through an encryption protocol once connected to a remote server. If you aren’t familiar with VPN and feel sketched out, don’t.

VPNs are amazing to enhance your security, they are safe to use, and they have many other uses too besides unblocking or unbanning yourself from a Minecraft server. Most businesses require the use of a VPN, after all–since corporate data has to be protected outside the zones of workplaces. Protect Against DDOS on Minecraft

Unfortunately, it’s super easy nowadays to produce distributed denial of service attacks on other Minecraft users. All a user has to do is use a packet sniffer to inspect other user’s IPs in the server and then the user can either DDOS the admin, or players individually to cause lag or dropout connections.

If you want to protect yourself as a server admin, or as a player on a Minecraft server, you need to use a VPN to protect against DDOS attacks. VPNs encrypted traffic and changes your IP so you can’t get DDOSed at all! And it’s super easy to do it.
