Best VPNs that Sell Dedicated IP Addresses

What is a dedicated IP address?

A dedicated IP address is an IP address that is only used by one user. Most VPNs like to use shared IP addresses that are shared by hundreds of users so that each user can remain anonymous. While dedicated IP addresses aren’t as secure regarding anonymity, they have their advantages as well.

Dedicated IP addresses can’t be blacklisted as easily as shared IP addresses. Media services like Netflix, BBC, and Hulu have become increasingly adept at rooting out shared IP addresses from VPN companies and blacklisting them, which causes a proxy/VPN block. If you have a dedicated IP address, it is much easier to remain hidden and lessen the chance of a blacklist.

Dedicated IP addresses are also useful for accessing web sites that get triggered when you have a different IP than normal. Sometimes Gmail or Banks require you to re-verify your account in some way which can be a hassle. It’s also common for video game applications to require additional online logins since they cannot recognize your computer as one registered to the account.

Have you decided to invest into a dedicated IP address to watch streaming content like Netflix, BBC, or Hulu? First, you’ll need a VPN that even supports dedicated IP addresses.

Important note about media streaming and picking a VPN provider for dedicated IPs:

Sometimes services can work with media services without dedicated IP addresses–although this is becoming less likely and sometimes even services that have dedicated IPs won’t work with streaming services. This is why some users will experience workability with some VPN providers without using a dedicated IP address.

That said, not every VPN provider designs dedicated IP addresses and they don’t always function the same way. It’s a tricky trial and error process too–since some VPNs don’t provide the same amount of support for dedicated IPs on the off chance that one gets blacklist. Not all VPNs on this list will work well with Netflix, Hulu, or BBC–only those that have been tested and noted here below as such will.

Besides differentiating what a dedicated IP address is, it’s also important to delineate why you should pick a particular IP address from a provider. Many people think that setting up one’s server with a dedicated IP address can help or be a flawless solution, but many data center IP addresses are blocked. It’s important to pick a specialized IP address from a provider that will provide replacements if one is blocked.

TorGuard VPN

TorGuard VPN is the best choice for getting a dedicated IP address ($7.99 per month)  if you want to stream Netflix, Hulu, or BBC. They even have a new dedicated IP address integration feature which makes switching back and forth from a shared IP quite intuitive. Whereas some companies might run out of dedicated IPs, TorGuard really nails down and focuses on satisfying every user with a brand new  dedicated IP.

They provide free shared dedicated IP addresses to access Netflix, as well as separate additional dedicated IP addresses that only you use.  Powered by high speeds, amazing IP leak protection and encryption, as well as extra VPN services like proxy support, TorGuard is the best dedicated IP address solution you can find (there’s a reason they are top rated on our site).

Astrill VPN’s dedicated IP address is a bit more affordable than TorGuard VPN at $4.99 a month. However, if you want to get all the features included with Astrill VPN (some shouldn’t be extras, but they are, like Stealth VPN), then you’ll end up paying more overall. Nevertheless, we loved Astrill’s high speeds and simple application.

Great speeds

Affordable for basic services

Easy to use

Worst first time set up we’ve ever seen that requires lots of information like phone verification

Live chat support reps can be clueless

NordVPN is another VPN that offers dedicated IP address support for $40 a year ( $3.33 per month). It’s an affordable solution, given that the monthly cost is also cheaper than our other listed options. However, with that lower price point comes some caveats like glitchy software and poor speeds.

Very cheap

Decent website

Slow speeds

Applications aren’t very functional

Visit NordVPN

PureVPN is an affordable VPN that offers dedicated IP addresses at $5.99 a month.  We loved its high speeds, and we found their extra services, privacy policy, and servers very notable. They’ve also improved their primary application, but they still have some polish remaining.

Great speeds

Priced fair

Some extra services

Horrible customer support

Mobile software is weak

VPN Unlimited

VPN Unlimited is one of the cheapest VPNs available since they have a unique “infinite” subscription for only $129. They are a great choice for torrenting since you can get such speeds, and they are also very fast with powerful servers. They also have a great mobile app, and their main app is easy to use.

Amazing speeds

Suspiciously good bargain VPN deal

Consistent application performance

Servers are fast

Privacy policy is a huge brick of “confusing”

No live chat

Website can be more detail oriented “what makes VPN Unlimited different?”

  1. PureVPN is crap, they sell you a static IP then tell you a week later that they can no longer offer it but don’t worry they will give you a regular IP in the USA and refund you the extra $5 you paid for the static IP. If your trying to use the IP’s they give you for streaming your out of luck because they are always blocked within a day or two. The online Customer service is great, but they have nothing to offer you except IP’s that are already blacklisted. It’s like talking to a polite Parrot, they keep saying use this URL and resolve the IP’s. OK I have done that and none of them work. Oh well Give us a few days. You come back in two days and its the same story.

  2. You fail to mention another application of a VPN dedicated (static) IP address: Routing incoming traffic. These allow external access to a network, even if you do not have a static IP address from your ISP. To run your own HTTP server, for example. Most VPN providers do not support this, even if they do have dedicated IP addresses.
