Are Lifetime VPN Subscriptions Legit?

Think about it this way. How can a VPN company promise a lifetime of good service to a customer, multiplied by thousands of customers? It’s simply not possible, unless said subscription is hundreds or thousands of dollars. In order to be profitable, something has to have a bottom line. Maybe the product offered is very cheap to maintain, maybe the cost of acquiring a customer is important to offer add-ons, or maybe the promise of a life-time subscription is simply a lie or a scam?

If you look at the VPNs that offer life time subscriptions, most are a bit strange. Some VPNs that offer life time subscriptions offer free models to draw in customers, which includes things like bandwidth caps, ads, or other ways for said VPN to sell data. Life time subscriptions can also do the same things. Maybe a life time subscription isn’t “free” and there is no cap on how much data you can use, but perhaps lifetime customers are categorized as such to get slower data or provide data for advertisers. Lifetime subscriptions are perfect for companies to get customers since it’s such a good deal, but you got to think of the cost! If something is too good to be true, chances are that is is.

In a lot of ways, it would be cool to see the best VPNs offering lifetime subscriptions, but unfortunately that is not the case.

Now granted, lifetime subscriptions for “everything” aren’t always bad. It’s just that they are few and far between and for different services than VPNs. Usually they are very limited flash sort of deals. In fact, I’ve bought some SEO services for a lifetime offer. But these, and other services aren’t like VPN companies. VPN companies need to handle mass amounts of data, have server fees every month, and so on. If you see a VPN company consistently offering some sort of always on life time subscription, something is up.

Best Lifetime VPNs?

So are there any good lifetime VPNs out there? Well there are a “few” but these VPNs still aren’t in my top tier rankings. The VPNs to look out for are Windscribe, Ivacy VPN, and VPN Unlimited. These VPNs are “OK” in terms of life time VPN offerings, but still–don’t expect the same speeds, customer service, or perhaps even long term service that you could expect from just paying yearly.

  1. lifetime are usually 5-7 years for most providers. take ivacy, unlimited, pure and ipvanish’s examples. but yes, they’re not bad at all an operate on economy of scales. so they’re useful only if you have like 60-70 bucks to invest one-time. otherwise annual plans are pretty okay too for most of them. it’s not like there’s a difference in the amount of features you’re getting.
