If you’re a fan of Duelyst like I am, you might have found that recently due to some deal with Bandai Namco, that you are unable to play Duelyst in your country. You might be in Russia, or Venezuela, or some other place that you can no longer play Duelyst. Without any warning at all, you have now suddenly lost access to your Duelyst game that you could of spent real money on.
Duelyst is a remarkable blend between trading card game and tactical turn based combat. The game has a beautiful art style, a good payment model, and a great depth of strategy–so it’s no wonder that you’re going to some great lengths to get it back.
If you’re trying to login to Duelyst, but now get the response “unavailable in your region”, you are not alone. There are many users on Reddit complaining about being locked out. The reason seems to be that partnering with Bandai Namco has created some issues with licenses and restrictions.
A response from the creators of Duelyst reads as follows:
“Unfortunately, to ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations and to fulfill [sic] our obligations to various third party service providers, Duelyst will not be available to users in all countries or regions. A timeline for sunsetting Duelyst in countries and regions where it will no longer be available will be announced shortly.”
Sunsetting is another word for “shutting down” and it’s very upsetting that this effect was not announced prior to the partnership between Bandai Namco and the Duelyst creators that have caused these issues.
If you’re in Russia, Venezuela, or any other place that is now locked out of access for Duelyst play, you’ve come to the right place.
