How to Unblock Twitch at School

If you’re in school, whether high school, middle school, or even college, you might have trouble accessing streaming content on Twitch.tv. The reason being is that your school’s internet department doesn’t want you wasting their bandwidth or your time at school watching media content on their computers. This is understandable, but as a student, I understand your pain. Sometimes you just need a break to watch a stream, or you’re bored, or you want to watch Twitch for a hundred other reasons.

So today, I’m going to help you unblock Twitch at your university or school. Now, keep in mind this is a paid method. IF you want to watch Twitch with unlimited stream times and have good speeds, then you have to pay. If you choose a free method, you’ll have to deal with buffering, ads, and limited caps that will probably cap out in a hour or two.

First, can you install programs on your computer? If that’s the case, then you can easily bypass Twitch restrictions by installing something called a “VPN”.

If so, good–that makes things easier. Maybe you have your own computer connected to the school’s firewall? VPN stands for virtual private network, and the basic idea is that you connect to a remote server that assigns you a new IP address.

The entire process lets you bypass school firewalls since you change your port number. Some firewalls restrict VPN use, but if you pick the right VPN, you can even use VPN features to bypass VPN restrictions as well! If you’re wondering which VPN is best at that, check out TorGuard VPN.

How to Unblock Twitch at School with Proxy

How to Unblock Twitch at School If you cannot install programs on your computer, you will need to use use what is called a “proxy”. This method is a bit cheaper than with a VPN, and to be honest, it might be better for streaming since proxies are a bit faster and cheaper.

A proxy is different from a VPN in that it’s usually based more in an application like Google Chrome or a BitTorrent application. It’s not so much as an app on your computer that reroutes all of your traffic so much as one particular instance. The easy way to use a proxy is to go to the Google chrome extension store and install a proxy.

With proxies, you simply install the app onto your browser, and login with your purchased credentials. In this case I would recommend TorGuard VPN again, since they have a cheap proxy package you can find here.
