In this guide, I’ll show you how to use Tixati with VPN.

Using Tixati with a VPN is incredibly easy, super efficient, and it won’t break you wallet. Anyone can, and should, do it.

What can you tell me about Tixati?

How to Use Tixati with VPN

Tixati is a smaller BitTorrent program that is perfect for people who like a minimalist client. The client uses an old school dark contrast bright colored style.

With Tixati, you have access to tons of information and stats that you can use while torrenting. It’s a great midway point between the heavier duty Vuze torrent app and the lightweight simplicity of qBittorrent.

Why do you need to be anonymous when using Tixati?

Just because Tixati might be a good program for torrenting, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have some of the drawbacks of P2P itself. That being, that when you take advantage of the P2P network, you will be sharing your information (namely your IP address) with other users, companies, or corporate entities who might be monitoring your use.

Not only that but your ISP (internet service provider) can track all of your web traffic through deep packet inspection. Deep packet inspection a heavy duty filtering technique which lets them monitor Internet users on a massive scale.

It’s very easy to see other users and their IP address on Tixati. Just navigate to the “Peers” tab on the bottom of the application. Here you can see the information I received while downloading a popular torrent:

How to use a VPN with Tixati:

First, you need to pick a good VPN. If you want a helpful list, check out this list of top VPNs. For the purpose of this guide, we’ll just use our top rated VPN since it’s the best all-around choice for torrenting–TorGuard (fast speeds, high security features, etc.).

TorGuard is very easy to set up with Tixati. Simply set up your subscription through the site (Bitcoin and gift card available) then download their app. Once you do this, put in your login credentials, and connect to a server near your location. Customize your cipher and use AES-128 for the best blend of security and speed.

Connect, and then start loading your torrent.

How to make sure your VPN is working:

Once your VPN is live and running, you got to make sure your IP address is hidden in the VPN client. Download TorGuards own IP checker tool. It works like a tracker, but it shows your IP address so you can make sure it’s not your real IP, but instead the one that is your connected VPN remote server.

Using a VPN with Tixati is incredibly easy as you can see from this completed guide. With a VPN, your internet traffic is encrypted so your ISP (Comcast, Verizon, Sky, etc.) can’t see that you’re torrenting through deep packet inspection. Not only that but copyright companies or snooping users can’t find your IP address in the torrent swarm (the P2P network).
